Pictures To Come Sooon!!!! and possibly trash eating raccoons?

I apologize for the tardiness of the visual depictions of my adventures here in Williston. Things have been so positively crazy hectic since I got here...i have hardly had enough time to sit and upload all of my pictures to my computer let alone to the internet. They are on their way, I promise. I WILL upload them on Friday(which is technically today and technically tomorrow). For the time being, I would like to share the following story. It kept my family laughing for quite some time, and I post it in the hopes that it will at least make you smile until I get the pictures posted. Maybe it's one of those "you had to be there things". But maybe it's not...i will let you decide for yourself. Please comment with your opinion.

We were cruising toward Washington and we were somewhere in the middle of Montana. Those wonderful mountains with all of those loverly trees. It was positively breathtaking. no really, you rolled down the window to get a better look, and you couldn't breathe because the air was soooo bloomingly cold! (we were almost at the elevation that has snow year-round) okay, so it was only 50 something, but it felt pretty cold to me.

Anywho...we were driving along and enjoying the wonderful view out our car windows when my mom says, "Man this is so pretty! I am surprised that more people don't live here."

And we were all like "yeah"... (in our minds of course, because silent nods are one of the best forms of communication)

and then my dad chimed in... "People don't live here because of the winters. We're talkin' 50 below zero. That isn't necissarily anyone's cup of tea." ( i may or may not be using my own words....i'll let you decide.)

Then Logan...who has not said a word for the better part of two hours (partly due to his silent nodding and partly due to the fact that he's perfectly content to be in his own little world listening in on other people's conversations) =D Logan pipes up and says, "No...people don't live here because they don't like raccoon. As hard as they try to keep them out of their trash, it doesn't work. They can put rocks on top, they can do lots of things, but the raccoon just eat their garbage and make huge messes that you have to clean up."

he is the only one that can possibly know how these two things are related... we were laughing for the better part of 20 minutes. It was pretty funny and downright adorable.

Perhaps that wasn't quite as entertaining to you as it was to us, but i hope it made you smile nonetheless. i hope that it gave a little bit of insight as to why people do not populate the state of Montana as much as you think they would. And I also hope that the things you learned about raccoons are put to good use. raccoons? raccii? raccooni? raccoon? what on earth is the plural of that word? is it like deer? or ducks? anyone? Beuller?

Anywho...i am mildly sleep deprived which may explain my random tangents, lack of capitalization, horribly punctuated sentences, and my blabbing about positively nothing at all. =D Keep that smile on your face, and look forward to "A trail blazer's adventure in Williston (and other places)" =D

P.S. I just looked it up...the plural of raccoon is raccoons. it looks like Google Chrome's spell check thingy is mistaken. =D
